MWE Character Without Question Winner - Lizzie Emerson
The SBISD Character Without Question award was designed to identify one student from each campus as a person of outstanding character. Those selected are recognized for making a difference in their school, in their community, and in the lives of others. These students prove that character counts and will be honored at the Annual Character Without Question Award Ceremony at the February Board of Trustees meeting.
The following Meadow Wood students were nominated by staff members for this award. All of these students are seen as those who consistently demonstrate strength in character and are positive role models for other students. We recognize the helpful influence they have in our school and community. The following group of students and their parents will be honored at a special event on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at Meadow Wood.

The MWE Character Without Question Committee facilitates the selection process for this award and had the very difficult task of selecting one student to represent MWE.
The committee selected Lizzie Emerson to have the honor of representing MWE at the SBISD Annual Character Recognition Ceremony on February 28, 2017.
Facilities and Planning Visit
SBISD has begun a District Wide Facility Assessment at all district facilities. On Wednesday, the Facilities and Planning group from our district, along with contracted engineers visited our building for an assessment scope that included physical condition, educational suitability, child nutrition and technology. I was able to provide them with a list of concerns, some of which have been concerns since we were rebuilt.
This group has been to quite a few of our SBISD campuses already, and will eventually go to all campuses for this review. Towards the end of the visit, David Vesling, SBISD Director of Facilities made a point to say to me, "Your kids are very, very good!" This is quite a compliment coming from someone who has visited multiple buildings in our district.
Kudos to you! Involved parents like you are why this happens!
4th Grade MWE Students Impress Museum of Fine Arts Staff
Our docent said the students were well behaved, inquisitive, asked great questions and were quick to see the similarities with a painting of an orange being pealed and the artist whose name was “Peale”.
-Pam Ferworn (Eric)
Our docent did tell me that our group was very well behaved!
-Amy Selesky (Joe)
Our docent was very impressed with the kids knowledge of artists. They asked to see a Picasso, Frieda Kala, and Jackson Pollack. When she asked how they knew about them they shouted "art class!"
-Lauren Perego (Hadley and Preston)
