Upgrade is an initiative of the Welborn Baptist Foundation that aims to help students win in the classroom through healthy choices and physical activity. In an effort to raise more awareness of our Upgrade program and involve the community, Huntingburg Elementary, Holland Elementary, Southridge Middle School and North Spencer Schools are teaming up to offer a FREE HEALTHY TAILGATE EVENT before the SOUTHRIDGE vs. HERITAGE HILLS varsity football game on Friday, September 28th. The tailgate will be held in the lawn south of the football field and will begin at 6:30 EST (game time is 8:00). Raider and Patriot fans will have the opportunity to sample healthy food options, gather recipes, and learn more about local nonprofits and businesses who also promote healthy lifestyles. The top selling student in each grade will receive $25 and every person who sells at least one item, picks up their product on time, and turns in their money on time will be entered into a drawing for $100. We will have three $100 winners! Paragon is our biggest fundraiser and we appreciate every single sale. As always, thank you for your time and fundraising efforts!

Young Hoosier Book Award Program

We've kicked off the YHBA program with grades 1-5. Students are encouraged to read the designated number of this year's nominated books so they'll be eligible to vote for their favorite at the end of the year. Fourth and fifth graders that read at least 5 of the nominees will be invited to a pizza party at the end of the year and may participate in the battle of the books. We will read the books aloud to students in grades 1-3. See the following link for more information about the program or to see the list of nominees: https://cdn.ymaws.com/www.ilfonline.org/resource/resmgr/YHBA_2018-19/YHBA_Annotations18-19_(1).pdf
