Spring Concert Update:
All concerts will be recorded and uploaded digitally. All of the Ramsey calendar's in-person concerts are cancelled. Reasons include:
- Inability to livestream an outdoor concert, including variable weather and sound complications - General safety concerns and equity for VLS students
- District statement requiring no indoor concerts
- CDC guidelines for no indoor wind performances lasting longer than 30 minutes
All students in performing ensembles should arrive to school this coming week in black, green or Ramsey attire to perform during their day of class in the week. VLS students are welcome to practice and record themselves playing along with this performance.
Please send all inquiries to my email at grey.tison@stpaul.k12.mn.us. Here's to a great virtual concert experience, and the continued and persevering hope that music will be live in some way next year. Thank you all!

Reason For Name Change: Alexander Ramsey, for whom Ramsey Middle School has been named, held offices as a US senator, governor of Minnesota, and mayor of St. Paul from 1855–1875. He was the governor of Minnesota during the U.S.-Dakota War of 1862. During this time, he made statements calling for the killing or removal of the Mdewakanton and Wahpekute Dakota from the state of Minnesota. Students and staff do not believe an individual with such hate for a group of people deserves a middle school named in his honor.

Counseling Office News
Hello Ramsey Families,
This past week, current 6th & 7th grade students spent time working on their 2021-22 Course Registration form
which we shared via Schoology. Email and text message reminders were sent to families (with links to the forms) on Friday May 21st.
On Monday May 24th, the Campus Portal-Course Requests tab will be open for students to select & confirm their course requests. Like last year, this is the 2nd and absolutely vital step in the course registration process. To assist families, course selection documents and links have been attached for your review. This information, with step by step directions will be shared with students via Schoology. The Campus Portal-Course Request tab will close on Friday, May 28th. Please ensure that your student selects and confirms their classes by this date.
As questions arise, please contact the Ramsey School Counselors: Barbie.woodruff@spps.org and/or Ayoub.nigatu@spps.org.
