Lessons and Activities - Week of May 11

Hello fourth grade panthers. Here is your recommended schedule for the week to keep sharpening your saw.


  • 60 minutes a day on reading skills like word work, vocabulary, fluency, comprehension
  • 60 minutes a day on math skills
  • 30 minutes a day on writing skills
  • 60 minutes on social studies and science
  • 30 minutes on PE, music, and/or art

We are nearing the end everyone! You have all worked so hard to stay educated while dealing with a new classroom environment. As the weather has been so nice, I hope you all get to enjoy some great activities outside. Remember to be reading and practicing your math facts as often as you can. Have a wonderful week!

  • Read “The History of Money” and complete the first vocabulary page in the assigned Your turn practice book.


Writing: Spend the week working through the writing process: brainstorm, draft, edit, revise, publish using the following prompt. Send your response to your teacher.


  • The school is debating on extending recess for students. Some teachers think this is a good idea, and others do not. Pick a side and convince your teacher to agree with you.


Language: This week we are working on prepositions. This is a new skill for 4th grade. Prepositions are words that connect nouns with pronouns. Some examples are: of, on, to, with, from
