The Sun and Moon in a Box
How do Coyote’s ignorance and selfishness cause harm to others?
Coyote's ignorance caused harm to others because he let the sun and moon out so the people were upset and now they have winter. He shouldn't have let his curiosity get to him.
Which character bears more blame for losing the sun and moon? Why?
I think the eagle has some blame because he's the one who gave Coyote the box, but the Coyote has more blame because he's the one who opened it. If he didn't open the box there would've never been winter and he could've had the sun and moon in the box forever.
What does this folk tale imply about the individual’s responsibility to the community?
The coyote wasn't responsible at all because he opened the box and the sun and moon got out, so now the whole community has to deal with winter due to his ignorance and selfishness.
