Principal's Corner
It is already almost September! These first few weeks have flown by! We are proud of how well students are adjusting to new routines. We have really been focusing on the Character Trait of RESPECT with students this past week. We have talked about what respecting Adults, Students, Families and Our School look like. Please take some time to continue to talk with your children about being respectful and ways they can show respect to others. Here is a video to share with them to help start conversations around respect. Feel free to use.
We will be planning some activities in the next few weeks. T-shirts are being ordered, we are planning field trips and working hard. Also- please see the link above regarding parent volunteers! We would LOVE to have parents come and help out, when possible. Parent lunches will be starting at the end of October as well. Please click the link below to review grade level newsletters and stay informed about what your student(s) are learning in class!
We will also be having Meet and Greet with Admin/TITLE 1/Parent Informaton Night coming on September 8! MARK YOUR CALENDARS!
ALSO- we need headphones! If you can send headphones with your students to school, or we can get some donated, that would be great! They are always a need!

Dress Code
Students may wear jeans on Friday with a Freeman t-shirt. We are in the process of ordering those student shirts. While we wait, they may wear a dress code polo shirt in place of a Freeman t-shirt.
Thank you for your help with this! We will get those students shirts ASAP!
**Action Required**Economic Survey
Normally, a student’s economic status is determined by the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) application. GISD Student Nutrition Services (SNS) will continue with the same designated CEP campuses as in the past. The district has developed an economic survey form that is included in the back-to-school forms. We are asking all parents to complete the survey this year so that we may determine their economic status. Their responses affect the district’s federal funding and our campus and district accountability ratings. Your assistance in completing the survey is critical to our collective success. A copy of the economic survey was shared with you at Meet the Teacher Night and we will also send more copies home this week.
