The Buzz at Westbrook School
May 5, 2023
From the Principal...
Dear Westbrook Families,
Starting Monday, May 8th, we will celebrate teacher appreciation week. Please consider having your child write a card or picture for their teachers. We will also celebrate our wonderful nurses next Wednesday, May 10th. Parents are welcome to complete the Warm Westbrook Wishes form to send a note of appreciation to a staff member.
Next week we will start our spring benchmark assessments for kindergarteners and first graders. Students will work one-on-one with their teacher or a benchmarking team member to assess reading and math skills. Grade-level teams use assessment data to ensure core instruction meets the needs of our students. We identify students needing additional support through interventions and review progress toward grade-level academic goals in reading and math.
First-grade families, please join us on Tuesday, May 9th, at Fairview for a choral concert led by our music teacher, Ms. Clarke. Please review your child’s performance time, based on the classroom teacher, on the flyer below.
As always, please reach out if you need anything. We are looking forward to our last few weeks of school together.
For your children,
Danielle Crandall
