Principal's Message

AJHS Family,

This last week of full days of instruction has been a great one! We thoroughly enjoyed celebrating many of our students at the Academic Awards Ceremonies as well as seeing our students show off their many abilities at the Talent Show!

We are down to our final week for exams. Please reference the Exam Schedule below and take note of the bus times if needed. AJHS students are only required to be on campus during the times in which they have an exam. Any student may report to the cafeteria for supervised holding if they need to due to their ride needs. It is vitally important that students attend their exams as they do factor into their overall and semester averages.

In my experience, individual class exams either improve, or decrease, a student's average considerably. Please encourage your student to study and do their best as we do not want anyone to have to attend summer school at the last minute. We will mail letters home containing the final report cards for the school year. We will also include a summer school form within this letter for those that need to attend.

Thank you!

Spring Exams

Students and Parents,

Spring Semester Exams will be held Monday-Thursday, May 22nd-25th. Please see the schedule below.

AJHS students are only required to be on campus during the time blocks in which they have an exam. We will not have any checkouts during exam times. If a student needs to be on campus during a time in which they do not have exam, then they will be supervised in the cafeteria. Our school buses will run the regular route times in the morning as well as the afternoon routes at approximately 12:00.

Many of our 8th and 9th graders have qualified for one exam exemption. They will work this out with their individual teachers in class this upcoming week. Please note that PowerSchool marks and exempted grade with a "0"; however, it will not be averaged in with the overall grade.

Spread the Word

We will attempt to get information out to our students and families in many different ways. Although SchoolCast is great tool to get information out quickly, many of our stakeholders "see and forget" these messages. Please help spread the word to follow AJHS on Facebook and Instagram. I also think that many people would rather see or watch than read. FB allows us to post short video message, tutorials and announcements. Thanks!
