Semester 1 Academic Assembly
If you have not already done so, could the parents/carers of the award winners please notify the office if they will be attending, by Monday 24 July. This will assist us with our catering.
The P&F Hospitality committee is providing the morning tea for the award winners and their parents after the Semester 1 Academic Assembly. If you are able to assist by baking something for the morning tea, could you please contact Clare-Ann Taylor by Monday 24 July. Unfortunately the contact number for Clare-Ann Taylor was incorrect in the last bulletin. The correct number is 0401 199 635.
Looking After Your Macbook
There has been a significant increase in the number of accidental damage claims to student laptops (notebooks), with cracked screens as the most common repair. Under the Notebook Agreement, parents contribute 50% of the cost of the repairs. With the current design of notebook, this cost for the parents alone could be up to $500. The College contributes this amount for every accidental claim.
The laptop is to be carried in the College supplied carry case at all times, as agreed to when parents and students signed the Student Responsibility Agreement. Ideally, the shoulder strap, which was originally supplied, should be used, especially when carrying books etc between classes.
Students sitting on their school bags which contain the laptop, even in its case, cannot expect the carry case to provide protection. Similarly throwing or other rough treatment of the school bag may result in damage to the laptop.
Good Luck to our Year 12 students as they approach the Trial HSC examinations. The Trials commence on Monday 31 July.
Family Mass at St Anthony's
The next Family Mass at St Anthony’s Church, Tahmoor, is on Saturday July 22nd at 5:00pm. Leave the wintry cold behind and come into the warmth of our beautiful Church and share in the EUCHARIST with a live music band , a choir of singers , liturgical dancers and our parish families . We especially welcome all the CONFIRMATION candidates for 2017 as they start on their journey of preparation for this SACRAMENT. Refreshments will be served after Mass.
