Plano Middle School Families,

As we head into the Spring Break week I wanted to include a few reminders that will apply when we return to school on April 6th.

We are excited to be able to welcome all in-person learners back into the building 4 days a week beginning April 6th. Our students and staff have done an outstanding job of maintaining safe learning environment and persevering through this 2020 - 21 school year. Looking forward to a strong finish!

  • All in-person learners will be 4 days a week beginning April 6th.
  • Building opens at 7:20 for in-person learners with their first class stating at 7:40 and the day ending at 11:55
  • There will be no change in the class schedule for in-person or remote learners.
  • Transportation department communicated via email any changes to bus pick up locations and times prior to March 27th.
  • All students and staff are required to wear masks covering both nose and mouth, and maintain social distancing expectations.

ATTENTION 8th GRADE FAMILIES: Our parent group P.O.P (Parents of Plano Middle School) will be meeting on April 9th at 12 noon to brainstorm ideas and plan this years 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony. Planning meeting will take place in the Plano MS cafeteria, or you can join via Zoom to share your ideas and get involved in helping to make this a successful event. If you are interested in being a part of the April 9th planning meeting email Mark Heller at to RSVP.

The Great Depression - Ice Cream

For their unit on The Great Depression, Mr. Spivey's class used a recipe from the 1930's to make ice cream! They used Jello, sugar, and heavy whipping cream to make this fun frozen treat. Ms. Freeman was also a huge help with this activity, a big thanks to her. We also want to give thanks to the lunchroom ladies, Mrs Farthing and Mrs. Bedolla, for letting students use the cafeteria!

Adventure Trek Leadership Camp

This camp focuses on outdoor adventure including team building, hiking, biking, and canoeing. These activities will challenge campers to get out of their comfort zones and try something new. Principals of leadership are woven into each challenge as campers test out their ability to take initiative, speak publicly, ask questions, interact with adults, take risks and make decisions. Camp will meet in different locations according to the activity of the day. More information on this flyer!

Track and Field Starting!

Track and Field will also be including Cross Country this year! It will run Monday-Friday, from April 6th through April 30th from 3pm-4:30pm. Sessions may take place both inside and outside, depending on weather.

Fishing Club!

Fishing Club is a great way to get out of the house and enjoy the outdoors while also learning how to take care of our Earth! Students will meet after school on Monday's and Thursday's beginning April 8th at Foli Park from 3-5 pm. Students are responsible for their own ride to and from Foli Park. Fishing poles and bait will be provided, and social distancing measures will be maintained at all times.

Congratulations March Students of the Month!

We will also be recognizing these students by putting their 'name in lights' on our LED sign out in front of our building!
