PRINCIPAL'S CORNER
As we approach February, testing season is also soon approaching. Teachers will be testing for report card progress in mid-February and then shortly after that our 3rd through 5th graders will take part in state testing. Each time we assess the progress of your child, we are checking in to see how well they are doing along the continuum of learning. We have a goal for your child to reach and we assess them to ensure they are making adequate progress toward that goal. It is then our job and responsibility to keep you informed of how your child is doing. If you have questions about this goal or your child's progress at any time, all you need to do is reach out to your child's teacher and ask questions. We love parent communication!
Have a fantastic end to January!
Please contact me with any questions or concerns you have about your child or school.

All Arts Day: On Friday, April 17th, 2020 we will once again be presenting the All Arts Day program where parent and community volunteers share their artistic talents with our students. It is a chance for students to see that art is all around them in a variety of forms. But to make it work, we need your help. Could you teach a small group of students how to take a good photograph? Scrapbook? Tie a fishing lure? Decorate a cake? Dance a polka? Make play-dough? The possibilities are endless, but we need about 25 volunteers to make the day work. Interested in being a presenter? Please contact the office (826-5819) for more information or to volunteer. Thanks.

Library News!
The Abrams Elementary library recently received over $1,200.00 of new Scholastic books from the Bookfair sales that were shared between classrooms and the school library. Bookfair chairperson, Lynn Franzmeier helped with getting grade level items for classrooms that would meet the educational needs of students and enhance their classroom reading options. The CPTO group also used bookfair sale funds to get a Makerspace storage center for the IMC as well.
Parent, Mrs. Danielczak, and staff/parent, Mrs. Leja, contributed copies of the books in the Who Was…? book series for students to use during our brand new Who Was History Bee competition! This helped more students have access to titles during the competition!
Illustrator Uncle donates again….: Rob Mommaerts,Illustrator and uncle of Abrams student Levi Mommaerts, donated another book in the Klawde: Evil Alien Warlord Cat series to our library. This is the 3rd book in the series, and as always, the illustrations bring the story to life!
