Kicking Into College

Playing College Football

How do I achieve this dream?

There are a lot of athletes that dream everyday of playing their favorite sport in college. I'm the type of person that constantly worries about the future and what I'm going to do and how I'm going to do it. College is a big priority of mine and ever since I can remember I'v always been concerned with how I'd pay for it or even get in to a good school. I'm the kicker for the varsity team and I really enjoy playing. The thrill I get every time I go onto the field is one of the best feelings I've ever experienced. I hope I can get offers from Arkansas or L.S.U. but realistically I will go to Missouri State or maybe even Pitt State. It doesn't matter to me where I go as long as I get to do what I love and basically get a free education from kicking a ball. In order to get to any college for kicking I have to get better grades, get a lot stronger, and get better everyday. To begin with, getting good grades. My current G.P.A. is a 3.5 which isn't terrible but I'm better then that. I've been getting tutored by one of my best friends and that's been helping a lot. With grades comes S.A.T and A.C.T scores which I just took a P.S.A.T. to prepare myself more for the S.A.T. Next, getting stronger. This year I've been taking lifting more seriously I ever have. I have my legs have gotten more toned and more powerful since I have started lifting more. You can see improvement in the distance in my kicks from last year to this one. Finally, I have to keep getting better. Compared to last year I improved so much this year and I have to say that same thing next year too. I usually practice for about 10 hours a week during football season, but in the off-season Its anywhere from 10-15 hours a week. One of my goals for my life is to complete my dream of playing football in college. In order to finish that dream I have to get good grades, get stronger, and continue to get better.
