READING
Students finished the novel, The Outsiders. They will now complete various post-reading activities: characterization poster, constructed response, and a plot diagram, to name a few. Please sign and return the Outsiders movie permission slip if you have not done so already. Book reports are due December 13.
LANGUAGE ARTS
In language arts classes, we will continue The Outsiders characterization posters, incorporating evidence for each character trait listed. Students will write a 5 paragraph constructed response about a dynamic character from the novel. They will include evidence to support their reasoning.
MATH
Course 2 students will be assessed on their knowledge of Integers on Monday 11/18. They will then begin working with Rational Numbers. Many of the concepts learned about Integers will be carried forward into the next chapter as well as many other future topics.
Accelerated 7 students will begin working with Ratios, Proportions, and Similar Figures. Our initial focus will be on Ratios, Rates, and Complex Fractions & Unit Rates.

SCIENCE
In science, we will be exploring types of cells and how their differences help them perform their specialized functions. Towards the end of the week we will start looking at some organelles in more detail starting with the nucleus.
