Venus was married to Vulcan, the god of fire, but she loved Mars, the god of war. Venus also had a son named Cupid who was the god of affection.

Venus' greek equivalent was Aphrodite.

How was Venus important?

Venus was important because she was one of the 12 major gods on Olympus and also because her relatives were the queen and king of Olympus.
