Air Layering
Propagation Method
Essential Materials
In order to successfully air layer a plant, you will need a sharp knife, Sphagnum moss, plastic wrap, 2 rubber bands cut in half, and aluminum foil.
How to Air Layer:
First, begin by making a 1½-inch wound to start the air layering process. Next, wrap the wound with sphagnum moss , and cover it with plastic wrap. After placing the soil and plastic wrap around the wound, tie a rubber band at each end to form an airtight seal. Finally, cover the plastic wrap with aluminum foil because the foil protects the wound from sunlight.
