Intro to the MI School Data Portal
A Free Workshop for New or Novice Users
Workshop Description
Learn to navigate the MI School Data portal, including the Parent Dashboard, early childhood, K‐12, postsecondary, staffing, finance, special education, and other sections. Explore the Dashboard, CTE/workforce, career and college readiness, and Postsecondary enrollments. Harness the power of the portal to explore performance and find out what’s working in Michigan schools!
During the optional afternoon work session, participants will be able to complete data digs from the morning session or dig deeper into the portal and their local data. Facilitators will provide assistance and resources, as requested by participants.
"Novice" users are encouraged to start with this course.
Audience
This course is designed for community members, K‐12 educators, school board members, and instructional leaders interested in school performance, including administrators, district or school improvement team members, teacher leaders, and secretaries who do state reporting.
School or district teams are encouraged to attend together.

- Workshop: 8:30 am - 12:00 pm
- Lunch: 12:00-1:00 (on your own)
- Optional Work Session: 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm
Cost: No registration fee

Participants will need a device to participate and to access to the Google folder.
Oakland Schools has loaner laptops available, if needed. Contact Janet Thomas (janet.thomas@oakland.k12.mi.us) to reserve a laptop.
