Feathers Up, KJ and Hunter!

Congratulations to KJ Dozier and Hunter Reid for their impressive performances at the Tennessee State Special Olympics held at Lipscomb University! KJ took home 1st place in the 83 kg weight class for bench press, deadlift, and total weight lifted. Hunter also had an outstanding showing, earning 2nd place in the bench press and 1st place in the deadlift and total weight categories for the 74 kg weight class. These athletes should be proud of their hard work and dedication. Well done!

Please look at the following map for the traffic pattern for LFO's 2023 Graduation Ceremony. Parking is available on the west side of our campus, but some spaces are temporarily unavailable during this phase of the additions to our school. To accommodate all of our guests, please note that parking will be available behind the visitor's bleachers of Tommy Cash Stadium.

Please remember to mark your calendars for the 2023 Feathers Awards. This annual event celebrates the incredible athletic achievements of the year, and it's always a night to remember. Join us on Tuesday, May 23rd at 7:00 PM in the Jerry Jones Gymnasium. It's going to be an unforgettable evening, so make sure you're there to cheer on our amazing athletes!

Cross Country

Are you considering the possibility of joining the cross country team in 2023? If so, you may want to check in with Coach Heath, who can be found in the JROTC building, or with Coach Cline, who can be located in the Fishbowl. These individuals will be able to provide you with additional information and guidance regarding this exciting opportunity.

Color Guard

The 2023 LFO color guard clinic and tryouts are coming up! The clinic is scheduled for May 22nd and 23rd from 4:15-6:15 PM, while the tryouts will take place on May 25th from 4:15-6:15 PM in the LFO aux gym. Make sure you mark your calendars and don't miss out on this opportunity!

Feathers Up, Anchor of Hope!

Thank you so much to Anchor of Hope Baptist Church and Bryce Williams for graciously hosting the 2023 LFO Baccalaureate. It was truly a memorable and special event that will be cherished by all who attended. Your kindness and hospitality were greatly appreciated, and we are grateful for the opportunity to celebrate this milestone in the lives of our graduates in such a beautiful setting. Thank you again for your generosity and support!

Chromebook Collection

LFO's media center has collected chromebooks, chargers, and books for the 22-23 school year. If you have not returned these to the media center, please return these ASAP.

Getting a Permit or License this Summer?

MCV-4

Attention upcoming 11th graders for the 2023-24 school year, the Georgia State Department Of Health requires upcoming 11th graders to get a booster of the meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MCV4). This will be a requirement for all 11th grade students for the next school year.


You may bring your child's updated FA3231 Immunization form to school or send to Jana Bullen, jbullen.lfo@catoosa.k12.ga.us, or fax: 706-861-6645. Please don't hesitate to call if you have any questions about this state requirement.

CCPS Final Exam Exemption Policy

Exemptions for SPRING finals will be based on unexcused absences and grades in each course. Since exemptions will be based on unexcused absences, it is important to send notes to excuse absences. Notes should be turned in to the attendance clerk, Judy Blevins, within three days of the absence.



Students may be exempt from finals if:

3 unexcused absences with an A in the course

2 unexcused absences with a B in the course

1 unexcused absence with a C in the course

0 unexcused absences with a D in the course
