March is here! This month we have Parent/Teacher Conferences on Tuesday, March 3rd and Thursday, March 5th. Spring Break will be March 13th-March 20th!! This month we will be learning letters E, A, X, and D. Most of our Pre-K friends are now working on writing our last names! We are so proud of how hard all of our friends are working in class.

It is March already, this school year is flying by! Parent Teacher conferences are on March 3rd and March 5th be sure you have signed up. These meetings are so important and a great way to see how your child is doing! Spring break is March 16th- 20th. Our focus in March will be the wonderful Dr.Seuss and Spring/plants. The letters we will concentrate on will be Ee,Hh,Uu,Ll and Ww. Keep up with the 20 minutes of reading and filling out the reading logs after reading spend some time on sight words. Don't forget to get your background check for our field trip that is coming up on April 10th. We hope you have a great Spring Break!

First Grade

February was a whirlwind of a month! Thank you to everyone who donated items for our 100th day, Valentine's party and Bingo basket! March "marched" right on in and it's hard to believe that we have almost 2nd graders in our classrooms! Don't forget about Spring break starting on March 13. We will be learning all about Dr. Seuss, landforms, and Me on the Map this month. We will start assessing for report cards and doing progress checks for STAR assessments. We look forward to meeting with you at conferences on March 3rd and 5th to discuss your child's progress! If you plan on going on our field trip as a sponsor, please complete your background check on the MPS website. All adults supervising other children are required to complete those. Thank you for all of your support this year!

Second Grade

Thank you to all the families that attend the PSO Bingo. It was a great night! Parent-Teacher Conferences will be March 3 & 5. Second Grade has their field trip planned. Be looking for more information along with permission slips. We are going to the Oklahoma City Science Museum, Thursday, April 16th. If you plan on being a sponsor, you will need a backgroun check that link his Please do this as soon as possible. Children need to be reading 20 minutes nightly and practicing math facts 10 minutes nightly to help get ready for Third Grade. Last but not least, Spring Break is March 13-20! Supplies Needed for classrooms: Anti-Bacteria Wipes and Germ-X

Third Grade

In like a lion or lamb? Spring is a very busy time for us in 3rd grade. The STAR window (reading and math) is March 2-12. Please encourage your child to read at home, we are building up stamina for the OSTP test. Don't have a lot of time in the evenings?? Have your child read in the car on the way to and from practice. Our students will be testing anywhere from 45 minutes to 1 1/2 hours just in one testing period. The OSTP reading tests are April 22nd and 23rd. The OSTP math dates are May 6th and 7th. Our Camp DaKani field trip will be April 24th. Every parent attending will need a current background check in order to go on the trip. If you have any questions about these events, please don't hesitate to ask! See you at Parent/Teacher Conferences either on March 3rd or 5th!!

Fourth Grade

February went quickly with a lot of events! We will continue the fun in March! Our field trip is scheduled for March 12. We are going to the Science Museum. If you plan to be a sponsor please get your background check done asap. We will be preparing for the state test the month of March! We will need your help at home also. Your child should be reading and practicing math facts nightly. A great way to do this is to have them work on their Study Island accounts. This will help reinforce comprehension skills and stamina with reading and help with quickly solving longer math problems. Our testing dates are April 21-22 for Reading and April 29-30 for Math. Please do not schedule doctor's appointments on these dates. Parent -teacher conferences are March 3 and March 5. Please make sure you schedule one with your teacher.

The MHS Theater group came to perform for us!
