The Nest

Week of January 8, 2018

Welcome to the New Year!

Trexler would like to welcome back all from a restful and snowy start to 2018! Please help your child ensure that they have needed materials such as pencils, paper, 3-ring binder, and a fully charged laptop (we are tentatively planning for laptops to be returned early next week) each day. We are looking forward to helping students close out first semester later this month and get off to a great start for second semester.

Falcon yearbooks will be on sale through January 31st for $35.00. Students can get a yearbook form at the front office and submit the form to the receptionist along with their $35 to reserve a book. If paying by check, it should be made out to Trexler Middle School or TMS.

Athletic Corner

Just before Christmas break, Trexler's wrestling team participated in the Onslow County Middle School Wrestling Tournament. All students showed much athleticism and sportsmanship. Special recognition goes out to Dylan Ribott and Alex Aguilar for placing second in their respective weight classes! Pictured below left to right: Dylan Ribott, coach Charles Lindsey, Alex Aguilar.

On December 14, Trexler families gathered together for an evening of fun, food, fellowship and service learning. Families were encouraged to bring in donations for Onslow County Christmas Cheer. Together we raised over 100 items for donation! These donations were provided to the Onslow County Christmas Cheer program and impacted families in and across Onslow County including three local families. These local families were provided boxes of food, winter gear, and an assortment of toys. Special thanks to all those who donated items in support of our community.

Fun was had by all as students, parents, and teachers participated in an Ugly Christmas Sweater Competition, games and a variety of team building exercises. After dinner and the sweater contest, parents and students rotated through several different rooms to play a series of games. On behalf of the Trexler family, we’d like to thank all those who came out to attend the event.
