Junior High Online Learning - What will it look like?
Students are expected to log in for 8:20 a.m. via Google meet with their Homeroom teacher tomorrow morning. If the teacher did not share a link with them on Friday, this will be shared with them in the morning before class begins tomorrow. Please note attendance will be taken each block. Absences will be recorded as if the student missed an in person class.
Students will NOT be ONLINE for 6 hours each day. The expectation is that students check into their google meets at the start of each block beginning with prayer and announcements at 8:20 am each morning. Depending on the subject topic, students will be present for instruction from teachers and assigned a follow up activity to demonstrate their learning of the outcomes.
Options will consist of a check in for class as well, but once students have a project to work on that they have chosen, they will be able to again have work time away from the computer.
A few other informational pieces about online learning:
- Teachers and students have been using Google Classroom since the first day of school. Students are knowledgeable and very experienced with daily interactions in all of their CORE subjects.
- Students should have all of the textbooks and materials they need as they were asked to take everything home with them on Friday.
- Administration spoke with students on Friday explaining more about what online learning will look like.
- The current student timetable is the schedule students will be following throughout the school day. Students are expected to check in with their subject teacher at the beginning of each block.
- OPTIONS - Students will receive a few choices to choose from and will choose a project. Time to work on the project will be given, with students still checking in to the class as they would with a normal class.
The Advent Season is Here!
This is a time of renewal and joy. Let us take some time to reflect upon how we may be more prepared for His birth!
