Feeder School Connections
Connecting with our feeder schools is something that we pride ourselves on at LASS! Not only does it help ease the transition our students make from elementary to middle to secondary school, it also helps ensure that we are on the same page when it comes to research skills, makerspace activities and use of technology. We have hosted board game days, author visits and meetings with our feeder school teacher librarians.

Support For Staff
We are always looking for technology and resources to help make teaching and learning fun. Our main goal is to support our teacher's greatest areas of need (GANs).
We accomplish these goals by doing the following:
- Regular collaboration with teachers
- Attending PD on 21st century teaching and learning
- Purchase of needed materials and resources
- Creating flexible spaces that meets their needs
Alternative Classroom Spaces - The Redesign of Room 228
21st Century Teaching and Learning @ LASS
Our staff is amazing at changing their teaching styles to meet the needs of their modern learners. Thanks to their input and feedback, we are in the process of changing one of our old computer labs into a new multi-purpose space. This room will now be equipped for collaborative work as we have tables and seating close to TV screens with Apple TV and Chromecast attached. Green screens and iPads will be used for film projects and we will have microphones, headphones and other equipment for podcasting. We have spent a lot of time this semester in the LLC teaching both staff and students how to use this technology so we are excited to see what classes are able to produce next semester!
