Copeland Hoofbeat
April 26, 2018
From the Principal
We are entering the home stretch of this great school year! We have a little less than six more weeks of school. Hard to believe! I am so proud of our awesome Colts and all that they are achieving. We were represented well at the Technology Festival and Choral Festival recently. Look for more details in this issue of the Hoofbeat. Copeland staff members are selecting and sending students each Friday to show off their awesome work at our Bring it to Me Friday celebrations.
Please mark your calendars for these upcoming events. We will have a PTO meeting and 1st grade program on Tuesday, May 8th starting at 6:15. May 11th is a busy day at Copeland as we are hosting PK Splash Day, Kindergarten Milk and Cookies with Mom, and Life Skills Mother's Tea. Classroom teachers will be sending more details on these events directly to parents.
Our last round of STAAR testing will take place on May 14th, 15th, and 16th when our 3rd and 4th grade students will be taking their Math and Reading tests. Our 5th graders will have an opportunity to retest on those dates if they did not pass the first administrations. As always, we will have no visitors on those three days. Thank you for understanding, and thanks for your support of our wonderful school.

From the Nurse
Dear Parents,
As we are nearing the end of the school year please make arrangements to retrieve your student's medication from the clinic any time by 3:30pm on Friday, June 1st, 2018. Please call the clinic if you need to make other arrangements. Any medication left in the clinic after that time will be discarded!
The District's policy on transportation of medication states: ALL MEDICATION shall be brought to the clinic by the parent or guardian or by another responsible adult and shall be secured there at all times. This includes over the counter medications and cough drops. When the period for administering the medication has expired, the parent, guardian or another responsible adult shall retrieve the medication from the clinic. I appreciate your assistance with this matter.
Sincerely,
Chris Cheves RN, BSN
