Need more information about what's going on at TCE?
A message from Ms. Spalding, Principal
What a wonderful start to the 2019-2020 school year. Everyone has been so helpful especially to our new students and families. Everything went very smooth these first 3 weeks for Tracks 1, 2 & 3. We wish track 3 well as they track out for the next 3 weeks.
We are looking forward to having Track 4 starting on Monday. Their Meet the Teacher on yesterday was very well attended.
As most of you know, Turner Creek practices “Conscious Discipline”. Make sure you ask your children about the morning news, classroom jobs, breathing techniques and other positive forms of social-emotional learning.

2019 - 2020 SCHOOL YEAR READINESS!
Hello, returning Tree Frog Families! Hard to believe that our tree frogs have started the next school year in a few already! Here are a few reminders as you gear up for the 2019-2020 School Year -
IMPORTANT DATES - Track 4
Thursday, July 25th - Meet the Teacher 4.30 pm-5.30 pm
Monday, July 29th - First Day of School
Kindergarten lunch volunteers
Hello Tree Frog Families! It’s that time of year again. Little tree frogs are joining our amazing school. Kindergarten is a whole new exciting world for kids.
To help make their transition easier, we are asking for volunteers to help out in the lunchroom. They will need help typing their 10 digit numbers to purchase lunch, as well as opening food containers etc. We do ask that you keep in mind the children need to learn independence, so rather then just opening containers for them, you guide them in how to do it on their own for the future.
We also ask that you don’t volunteer if you have a rising kindergartner so that it is not tough on your little one when they have to return to class.

A Note from the Music Room
Dear Parents,
I would like to welcome you and your family into the music community here at Turner Creek Elementary School. We are very excited to have you here, and want to take this time to celebrate not only the hard work your child will put into the next year in music class, but also the skills that they will develop through their musical experiences.
The lifelong benefits your child will obtain through music expand beyond the classroom and are transferable to every other academic subject.
On our Music Class Webpage, I will include helpful information and opportunities for your student and the various ways you can get involved in your child’s musical journey this year. This website will include information for our Music Sharing Day, Homemade Musical Instrument Band, 3-5 Grade Ribbit Recorders Woodwind Ensemble, Frogapoolza Performances, Fourth Grade Symphony Field Trip and much more. The Music Class Webpage can be found under the heading of “Academics and Programs” on our Turner Creek Elementary Website.
Turner Creek also offers the opportunity for your fourth and fifth grade student to join our Turner Creek Concert Chorus. All students in fourth and fifth grade are welcome to join! The information for our TCE Concert Chorus is also located on our TCE Website under the heading of “Students.”
Again, welcome to our musical family and I look forward to meeting you!

Clip Tyson Project A+ labels from participating Tyson® product packages and send them to school with your child. We’ll collect the labels and send them to Tyson Foods, and Tyson Foods will send our school a check. Each label is worth 24¢!

Earning Money for TCE While You Shop
Even if you have linked your Harris Teeter VIC card to our school in the past, you must re-link it each summer for the school to earn money when you shop at Harris Teeter. Last year, we raised nearly $600 simply by our families linking their VIC cards to TCE. To link or re-link your card, simply choose one of these options:
Online:
1. Login to your Harris Teeter profile at the top of HarrisTeeter.com
2. Click on My Account once logged in
3. In the Together in Education section, type "Turner Creek" in the School Search toolbar
4. Once the school name generates, click on the school name and then click on Add a School
In-store:
Ask your cashier to link your VIC card to our school.
Let us do it for you:
Please email Maggie Demicco at fundraising@tce-pta.org and include your last na
me plus either your VIC card number OR the phone number associated with your account.
Publix accounts must also be re-linked to our school again each year. For instructions on how to do this, please visit:
http://www.tce-pta.org/publix-partners.html
