Elida Meal Distributions By the Numbers

Total breakfast & lunches distributed this week: 3,666

We will continue distribution next week on Monday & Wednesday April 20 & 22 from 10:30-11:30 at both locations: Lima Community Church & Temple Christian School/Lima Baptist Temple.

Meals Available Tomorrow Saturday, April 18th

Neighborhood Relief Ministries will be partnering with the Church at Allentown and the West Ohio Food Bank to distribute a free meal and food boxes on Saturday April 18th 2020 from 9 am to noon at 4900 Allentown Rd. This will be a drive through distribution for residents of the Elida area needing assistance. Shut-ins needing assistance and questions please contact Pastor Dave Roznowski at 419-296-2681.

Shelf Stable Food Available

More meal resources are available locally through SAFY (Specialized Alternatives for Families and Youth.) Children's Hunger Alliance is able to help provide food for area families.

Tuesdays & Fridays 10:30-1:30 pm. Curb-side pick up at the SAFY Youth Drop-In Center 658 W. Market Street.

Elida Breakfast Club Donates to Meals 'Til Monday

The Elida Breakfast Club donated their April dues to the Meals "Til Monday Organization to assist with providing food to area students. Their total donation was $315! Thank you to this amazing, generous group!

Important information regarding sending photos for the Senior Slide Show, purchasing the "Reflector" Yearbook, purchasing senior ads, and deadline details is available HERE on the school website. The yearbook "Unleashed" is still on sale online for $75 at yearbookforever.com.

Elida Renewal Levy Depends on Your Vote!

All registered voters have received or will receive this card with instructions to request a ballot to vote. If you have questions, please call the Board of Elections: (419) 223-8530.

Don't delay! To ensure enough time, voters are encouraged to drop off their ballot request forms at the Drop Box located in front of The Board of Elections, 204 N. Main St. in downtown Lima. Mail times are taking a minimum of 3-5 days to receive mail, so voters should drop the ballot request form in the Drop Box.

You'll receive the ballot in the mail in time to return it postmarked by April 27th!

Ballots MUST be returned to the Board of Elections by April 28th.

Kindergarten Classes From Home

Kindergarten teacher Mrs. Buss shared with us photos of some of her students learning from home! Way to go! We're proud of all of our students and teachers.

Band Booster Meeting Canceled

The Band Booster Meeting scheduled for Monday, April 20th has been canceled. The next meeting should take place on Monday, May 11th, but be sure to check ahead with John Stetler jstetler@elida.k12.oh.us to confirm

Students Excel in the National Latin Exam

Elida Latin students recently took the National Latin Exam sponsored by the American Classical League and the National Junior Classical League. The exam promotes the study of Latin and to encourage the individual student.The test is extensive and covers grammar, comprehension, mythology, derivatives, literature, Roman life, history, geography, oral Latin, and Latin in use in the modern world.

This year there were 13 Elida student award winners:

Latin I- Magna Cum Laude- Sara Smith (11), Maddox Bell (8) Cum Laude- Logan Tolliver (8), Seth Sharp (8), Olivia Laux (8), Isaac Earl (8)

Latin II- Silver Maxima Cum Laude- Hunter Brendle (10)

Cum Laude- Riley Mick (9), Carter Davisson (9)

Latin III- Silver Maxima Cum Laude- Dane Martin (10)

Magna Cum Laude- Conner Douglass (10), Colin Mick (10)

Latin IV- Magna Cum Laude- Dane Harter (11)

New Elementary Construction UPDATE

"My New School!"

This 'lil guy was excited to see the trucks at the construction site this week! This is Marek Overholt, the son of 8th grade math teacher Mr. Brady Overholt. According to Brady, Marek kept saying "MY New School!" That's right Marek, and we are excited, too!
