The Husky Howl
October 11-October 15, 2020; Semester I, Week 7
A NOTE FROM YOUR HUGHES MIDDLE SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS
HMS Parents and Friends,
Another busy week has come and gone and the new grading period has begun. We have acclimated the new and returning students to the new on-campus health and safety protocols and procedures. They have done TERRIFIC!
As we begin this new week, students get to chill for a day. That's right, there is no school for students on Monday. Teachers will be participating in Professional Development so they will not be available for contact.
Please note the calendar for this week as well as for the coming weeks. There is a change in the 8th grade PSAT date. So, 8th Grade Parents, mark your calendars for the morning of October 28 because all on-campus students will participate in the "Preliminary SAT."
Also, we have had great participation in our two spirit days this year. We hope you will encourage your child to PINK OUT on Tuesday and wear Purple on Friday. Both days will give a boost of morale on campus but they will also highlight and bring awareness to the plight of those suffering with cancer, caretakers of those with cancer, and those who have lost loved ones with cancer. These days will be great opportunities for your family to take time to consider the effects of the disease on us all.
Thanks for your ongoing support and communication with HMS teachers who are working hard to provide support and communication with you and your child. Together, we can make this year one for the record books.
Until next time,
Your HMS Administrative Team
