Kellogg Strong

Family Newsletter - May 20, 2022

Thank you VOLUNTEERS!!

Shoutout to parent and teacher volunteers who help us pull off our first Kellogg DANCE! We couldn't have done it without you!

We need parent support!

With three weeks left of the school year, we want to ask that you remind your student(s) to continue to adhere to the school expectations, which include the “off and away” cell phone policy, and being to class on time. The bells that ring in between classes signal the start of class, and not when to head to class. Students should be in the classroom before the bell rings.

Please leave balloons and other toys at home.

We also continue to teach students they don't need to spray body spray on in between each class. Once in the morning is great!

Thank you!

We need to collect Chromebooks at end of year

Congratulations on your Verizon Innovative Learning School End of Year Award

Dear Portland Public School Leaders,

Congratulations! We’re excited to share that school-based IT POCs in the district have been recognized with a Verizon Innovative Learning School End of Year Award!

Kenneth Hamilton was honored with the "Contributor: IT Leader or School-based IT" in recognition of their outstanding work this school year. They were nominated for this award due to Portland Public School's school-based IT POCs working hand-in-hand with school principals, instructional leaders, and teachers to support the use of technology throughout the curriculum. A true team collaborator, they offer timely troubleshooting and device support to staff and students and are actively working to build students' capacity through Student Tech Teams. Additionally, the School-based ITs rotate to ensure schools have support four days a week goes which above and beyond to ensure an equitable and sustainable approach.

Congrats Kenneth!
