Back to School Night

Thank you to those of you who joined us at Back to School Night last night. It was so great to see the halls bustling with parents. Did it bring back memories of bells and tardy warnings? I loved walking around and hearing about all the engaging topics that teachers were discussing, including hands-on lessons, project-based learning, use of technology, Bystander and other social emotional topics, and so much more.

It is nights like these that I am reminding of how lucky I am to be the leader of such a wonderful school community. I truly feel honored to educate and instill the core values of GRIT with your children. Thank you for trusting us to help prepare your child to be a well-rounded, successful citizen.

I appreciate and thank our PTSA for having such a presence last night as well. If you have not yet joined PTSA, please think about doing so. More information about student incentives will be coming soon. Don't miss out on this year's Haunted Basement tours either...if you dare!

Fall Fundraiser

For the past few years, Dwyer has done the Step It Up for Kids fall fundraiser. Our PTSA and administrators decided to go away from that fundraiser this year in favor of one that more directly benefits our kids and falls in line with our new construction.

We are pleased to announce that we have a direct donation brick campaign going on now. By purchasing a brick, you will have a lasting family memory to be placed in our new STEAM Building and Gym areas. In addition, the donation covers up to 4 PTSA memberships (students are encouraged to be members too). Student incentives (like in the past with Step It Up) will be based upon PTSA memberships, in addition to the brick campaign, so that all can take part.

Donating funds for a brick is a two-step process. First, you will fill out a paper form and write a check/cash to Dwyer PTSA ($150). After that is turned in to the office, you will visit 4ever Bricks website to customize your brick. At this time you will have the option of adding art and purchasing a replica mini-brick (payment for these options is done through website).

Please think about supporting our students and school. The PTSA spends these funds all year on things such as GRIT rewards, library books, sports equipment, staff appreciation, and so much more. We are so thankful for the generous community support!
