When integrating technology, try to create a "pumpkin spice latte." These tools help students create products that were previously inconceivable without the technology.

Newsela is a huge database of news articles with writing prompts and questions embedded. Teachers can create a free account, assign articles, and assign quizzes and writing prompts directly to the students! Great for English, Social Studies, and even has Spanish texts! You can also pick different lexile reading levels for each article.
Canva is another powerful tool to create visuals on Chrome. It allows you to design a number of things that include flyers, presentations, cards, invitations and posters. You can choose ‘from more than one million layouts, stock photographs and illustrations. Search for the best graphics, photos, and fonts then use Canva’s simple drag and drop tool to create a design.’

A great thing about Canva is students can create "fake" magazine covers. I could see this working great about literary characters or historical figures! I could see this being used in foods to photograph dishes. Here is a link to direct lesson plans!

WeVideo makes video editing easy for everyone and accessible from anywhere. It supports three editing modes: storyboard, timeline and advanced mode and allows you to trim videos to focus on key moments. You can also add text, effects, music and transitions and choose from over 100 royalty-free effects and audio clips to enhance your videos. Other interesting features provided by WeVideo include: record and add your voice-overs, choose from a wide variety of professional themes to use with your videos, invite others to collaborate with you on your videos using Google Drive, publish to YouTube or Drive and share your videos on Facebook and Twitter.
The Snagit for Google Chrome Extension makes it possible for you to capture screenshots and screen video recordings within your Chrome browser. Using TechSmith Snagit for Google Chrome, you can quickly capture and save whatever you see on your computer screen. This could be useful if you wanted the kids to teach a lesson to the class, explaining the steps or process of solving a problem. You could also have them record their presentations to view later.

Here is an easy "how-to" guide!
