PTA Monthly News
What's going on this month with PPE PTA
Welcome from the new board!
Jessica Kundert - President
My husband, Steve, and I have 3 children at PPE. Kate is a 4th grader and twins Will and Sam are in 1st grade. I’m excited to be more involved in our school as public education has long been a passion of mine. When I’m not driving my kids to a million activities, I love the beach (but summer is my least favorite season), traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
Renee Vines - Treasurer
My husband, Steve, and I have three girls. Becca is a sophomore at IT’s business academy, Izzy is in fifth grade, and Eva is in first grade. I have always been shy about getting involved with school activities but I felt this year was a great time to put my love of numbers and spreadsheets to use to help organize the funds for the many needs of our school community. Our family enjoys camping and attending sporting events.
Nicole Beth - Vice President
My husband, Todd, and I have 2 kids. Nickolas is in seventh grade at Mahone and a PPE alumi! Mallory is in 4th grade here at PPE. Advocating for their education and school community is a priority to us, which is why I am excited to be a part of the PTA board this year. The PTA offers many great opportunities for our students and their families, I want to be a voice that keeps the school community informed and involved! I enjoy cheering my kids on in their extra-curriculars, spending quality time with family and friends, being outdoors and traveling.
Chelle Zettle - Secretary
My husband Ryan and I have two boys; John (former PPE student and current 8th grader at Mahone) and Jonah current fifth grader here at Pleasant Prairie. I love being involved with the school; through work as the School Librarian and through PTA activities with my children. I love the fall, reading, and traveling with my family!
Andi Connolly-Meyersv- 2nd Vice President
My husband Jon and I have one daughter Kate; she’s in second grade. I love being involved with the school; being informed on what’s going on in the school and being a voice for the Kate’s education. Spying on Kate during the day is also quite fun. I love summer time, cooking and corny jokes are my favorite.

A word from our Librarian
The library is busy these coming months working on a Girls Coding Class, and an upper grade Roller Coaster STEM Maker Club. Soon a Battle of the Books club will also be formulated. In November the clubs will switch to a primary level roller coaster club. One feature we have at the PPE library is a mini parent library. We have books about ADHD, cookbooks, understanding your child's emotions, and adult fiction books. We also have some reading tip books. If you are interested in checking out any of these books or any of the books from the school library simply stop by the library and provide your name and telephone number. We will make sure we can help you check out books.

Raising a Rock Star Reader - Reading Tips
Tip #1 Surround your child in books. Having many opportunities available for your child to read is an excellent way to promote reading literacy at home. You can purchase the books or encourage visits to your school and public library.
Check out these top reads for your next family reading time: Chrysanthemum by Kevin Henkes, Dinosaur Dinosaur by Kevin Lewis, If you Give A Mouse a Cookie by Laura Numeroff, Today I Feel Silly & Other Moods That Make My Day by Jamie Lee Curtis, Arnie the Doughnut by Laurie Keller, A to Z Mystery series by Ron Roy, Captain Awesome series by Stan Kirby and George O'Connor, and The Geronimo Stilton series by Gernonimo Stilton. These are only a few books recommended to motivate your child to read.
