All School News
Greetings, BCS Families!
We have finally arrived to our final week of school! We have so much going on in this final week - Move-Up Day, 8th Grade Celebration & Dance, Wacky Recess, and the 5/6 Field Trip to the Imagination Station. On behalf of the entire BCS team, we are so appreciative of the partnership we have with our BCS parents. One of our greatest strengths is the kind of collaboration and support we have with our parent community. If you have not had the opportunity this year to be actively involved in our school community, please consider opportunities next year. We welcome you and want to continue the excellent tradition of partnering with our parents, so that we continue to offer the very best for our BCS Cobras.
We hope everyone has a restful, relaxing summer, and we look forward to a wonderful 2022-2023 school year!
Yours in BCS solidarity,
Dr. Hakim & Mr. Hill

New BCS Touchstone
We are so excited to reveal that we have a new BCS Touchstone! Thank you to everyone who responded to our surveys about core values and to all of the artists who submitted their touchstone ideas. A touchstone is an emblem that instantly reminds us of our core values, what we seek, and who we want to be. Our cobra symbolizes strength, wisdom, creativity and constant growth and transformation. The points of the compass give us a sense of direction and inspire us to follow our core values to achieve success. A special shout out goes to Michelle Jonna, parent of Gabe, who met with our student Character Committee members and shared her graphic design expertise to help produce our wonderful new touchstone. Thank you!

https://www.signupgenius.com/go/8050545a8ab2da13-8thgrade1
Please help us make this day special for them. We ask everyone for their support in set-up/clean-up and donations. And in the tradition of past BCS graduations, 7th Grade parent volunteers are required during this special occasion so that the 8th Grade parents can enjoy the event with their families. After months of planning to make everything special, we will just need your help on graduation day and for the farewell breakfast (that 7th grade students attend as well) on June 10th.
Part of the evening festivities will include a gift card raffle at the dance. Please consider donating cards or giving a monetary donation for our Dance Committee to purchase them. For monetary donations for gift cards, please click the link below and specify that your donation is for the 8th grade dance.

BCS is pleased to announce that we will offer girls tennis this fall 2022! While formal registration will not go out/live until late August we want to get a bearing on who is interested in playing. On that note if your child, rising 6-8 grades, is interested in this excellent opportunity please email Lbraisted@birmingham.k12.mi.us with a brief message indicating the players name and what grade they will be entering next fall. This basic info will help us forecast the size of our team and secure adequate practice facilities and staff.
