Dear families,
Last week Superintendent Bogdanove shared the new physical distancing requirements and the steps we are taking to expand time for students on campus. You can read his full message here. Please continue to regularly check your email and read all newsletters from the school district. More information about our progress towards increased in-person learning and changes for families remaining in Comprehensive Distance Learning will be coming soon.
Thank you for your continued flexibility, grace, and partnership. I am so very grateful for this amazing Walker community. We've changed nearly every possible aspect of schooling throughout this year, lifted each other up after the devastating fire, continued to nurture relationships and connection throughout distance learning, and juggled new schedules repeatedly. Thank you for all you do and for all of your support.
As always, please do not hesitate to reach out to me for questions or concerns.
In Community,
Tiffany

Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) Executive Board Nominations for 2021-2022
Are you interested in being more involved with your child’s school experience? Do you know someone who enjoys supporting the community of parents, teachers, and staff at Walker Elementary? If so, nominations for the Walker Elementary PTO Executive Board are open and can be submitted through this FORM.
The Executive Board helps guide and lead Walker Elementary School’s PTO in hosting meetings, fundraisers, and events for the Walker Community. Many of the Executive Board positions are held by folks who have 5th grade students this year so there will be multiple open Executive Board positions for the 2021-2022 school year. Nominees should have children enrolled at Walker Elementary for the upcoming 2021-2022 school year. All nominations must be received by Friday, April 23, 2021 at 11:59PM. Nominees will be contacted to confirm their interest and the final slate of candidates will be announced during the May PTO meeting on May 6, 2021. If you have any questions about PTO or the nomination and election process please feel free to email the current Executive Board at ptowalkerwolves@gmail.com.

ASF’s 2021 Annual Fund Drive kicks off tomorrow, April 10th!
Our Ashland Schools Foundation (ASF) supports all the public schools in our district with funds that make their way onto campus and into our classrooms. This year, the foundation gave a record number of grants (nearly 50!) to support our teachers as they found new and creative ways to engage students! They also provided the district with 50 distance learning devices like laptops and iPads, purchased the large tents for outdoor classrooms you’re seeing on our campuses, and many other items too numerous to list!
A gift in any amount goes a long way toward ensuring we can meet the needs of all our students, and continue providing the excellent (and fun!) educational opportunities our Ashland community of schools is known for. You can donate and see the grants awarded to our school so far this year at AshlandSchoolsFoundation.org – or just text the letters, ASF to 72572 to make a donation.

Our Wolf Pack Needs Your Help!
Right now, we are all dealing with the impacts of the Covid 19 Pandemic. While we are all in the same storm, we are not in the same boat. Many of our families are struggling due to the loss of jobs, income, and stable housing. Walker has been working hard to support our families with a weekend food program. Our current funding sources are running low, and we could use your help!
Please visit:https://or-ashland-lite.intouchreceipting.com/wolfpacksupport to donate today.
100% of donations will go directly to purchasing food and supplies for our families in need.
If you are a family in need, please reach out directly to your child's teacher, or Tiffany.
