TODAY SHOW DETAILS
What an incredible day Monday! Obviously I knew that the Today Show was coming to Hope Valley School but no one gave me the inside information. The NBC producer lied to me and told me it was going to be a follow up from the Red Nose Bike Tour. Apparently, a few staff members and even my wife were in on this surprise. I don't like surprises but so glad I was kept unaware of things. I was totally shocked. I was in even more disbelief when I found out that I was going to be featured in a Father’s Day story on the Today Show. It will show me as a father figure here at school and at home. I was completely taken back and so appreciated that they thought of me to be showcased nationally (one of 4 fathers in the country). There are so many Hope Valley father's out there that deserve this honor as well. It certainly is a humbling experience. Along with that surprise, Home Depot will be building us a new playground for our school community. What a fabulous gesture from Home Depot. Lastly, I will also get to fulfill a life-long dream as I always wanted to be a meteorologist as a young child. I am going to get to do a live Weather Forecast alongside Al Roker next Wednesday, June 17. The entire piece will air on the Today Show (NBC) Wednesday, June 17 sometime between 8:00AM and 9:00AM. The clip will be about 5 minutes but it will 5 minutes of my life I will never forget. If they can pinpoint an exact time I will let you know.
