CURRICULUM NIGHT
As the mid-point of the 2016-17 school year approaches, PCHS is planning for the 2017-18 school year. We would like to invite you to attend Curriculum Night (formerly Parent Night). This year, the purpose of Curriculum Night is to allow you to hear about each core class (Language Arts, Math, Science & Social Studies) from the department's perspective. This is to enable you and your student to make the best decision about course selections for next year.
Current Freshmen, Sophomores & Juniors:
January 12, 6:30 p.m.
We will begin each night in the Wilson Auditorium. We encourage you to bring your student with you, so you both will receive the information about courses that are offered at Platte County High School to assist you and your student in the planning process of course selection for the 2017-18 school year. If you would like more information, please contact your student's counselor.

PREARRANGED ABSENCE FORMS
When a student has a prior arranged plan to be out of school for an extended period (3+ days) we require a prearranged absence form be filled out and turned in to the office prior to absence. By using this form the office and teachers are aware student will be gone and this eliminates the need for a daily parent/guardian phone call. The form may be found in the front office. As per PCHS handbook page 14.
ATTENDANCE MARKINGS: V vs. A
The following absences will be considered verified (V) by PCHS per handbook page 13, 14

3. Medical appointments with written confirmation by medical provider.
4. Funeral - evidence of attendance may be required.

6. Appointments that cannot be scheduled outside attendance hours - such as a court appearance.
7. Out-of-school suspension.
8. Visits with a parent or guardian who is an active duty member of the military who has been called to duty, is on leave, or immediately returned from deployment.
All other absences and any absence for which required documentation is not provided are non-verified (A).
ALSO:
Students need to bring in a dr. note or a signed document from college, court, etc. when you miss school for a any of these reasons in order to verify the absence.
Parents - please call in an absence or an early dismissal as soon as you can in the morning. We cannot accept hand written notes.
