Distance Learning Extended Through May 1st
LVUSD continues in its commitment to you and the learning, connection, and well-being of your students. In accordance with this approach, as well as the recommendations from state and local authorities, LVUSD is officially extending our distance learning until Friday, May 1st with the hope of a possible return to school on Monday, May 4th. The current modeling of COVID-19 suggests that we need to plan for potential distance learning even beyond that date, but the situation is evolving quickly and we want to be prudent in our monitoring and dismissal decisions. We will continue to send you updates and keep you informed on the latest information.
For the coming weeks, we look forward to continuing to support you and your children with distance learning. The LVUSD Board of Education and all of us are grateful to our staff who have been called in to serve meals to families, provide technology for students and staff, keep our facilities safe, and our employees paid during this difficult time. They are the glue that is holding the Las Virgenes community together during a very challenging time.
For additional information on LVUSD distance learning, please see the following FAQ document: LVUSD Distance Learning FAQ's. These documents can help answer any questions that you might have as we continue to navigate these rapidly changing circumstances together.

Family Support Resources
The outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) can be stressful for families. Fear and anxiety about a disease can be overwhelming and cause strong emotions in adults and children.
Everyone reacts differently to stressful situations. The emotional impact of an emergency on a person can depend on the person’s characteristics and experiences, the social and economic circumstances of the person and their community, and the availability of local resources. People can become more distressed if they see repeated images or hear repeated reports about the outbreak in the media. Below are resources put together by SAMHSA to support families during this circumstance.
