2015 Regional Spelling Bee

On Thursday, April 30, 2015, Ascension Lutheran School will be hosting this year's Lutheran Schools Regional Spelling Bee.
72 students from the following schools will be participating this year:
Ascension Lutheran (Torrance), Bethany Lutheran (Long Beach), Christ Lutheran (Rancho Palos Verdes), First Lutheran (Torrance), Redeemer Lutheran (South Gate), Westchester Lutheran (Los Angeles), and Venice Lutheran (Venice)
Students from Grades 3-8 are eligible to compete. Two participants per grade from each school are permitted to compete. Trophies and ribbons will be awarded at the end of each grade's spelling bee. Refreshments will be served during the Spelling Bee. Students not involved in a spelldown will participate in organized activities on campus.

2015 Lutheran Schools Regional Spelling Bee

SCHEDULE (* these schedules are tentative)
12:30 p.m.: Schools arrive at Ascension Lutheran School.
12:30 - 12:55: Registration (pick up packets with ribbons, certificates, rules, and schedule)
12:55 - 1:10: Welcome and devotions in the Sanctuary
1:10 - 1:15: Go to Spelling Bee Rooms
* 1:15 - 2:00: Grade 3, Grade 5, & Grade 7
* 2:00 - 2:45: Grade 4, Grade 6, & Grade 8
A map of where event rooms are located on campus will be handed out at registration. Schools are welcome to leave at the end of each bee. There will be no awards ceremony at the end of the event. Participation ribbons and certificates will be included in packets which will be handed out at registration. Trophies for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will be awarded immediately at the end of each bee.
Refreshments will be served during the Spelling Bee. Students not involved in a spelldown will participate in organized activities on campus.
