Tulalip Heritage High School
Principal's Message
Hello Tulalip Heritage Community,
We are well into the new year and a lot is happening! Our goal is to have at least 80% of our students in meaningful internship placements or LTI's (Learning Through Internship) by February. Internships provide students with he opportunity to engage in relevant and authentic experiences that make learning relevant. If your student isn't in an internship, please take a moment to talk to them about their interests and curiosities. These experiences are a requirement of our programming and your support would be greatly appreciated.
Please make sure to watch the weather and the District communication regarding potential snow days. Also, there will be no school on January 15th in recognition of Martin Luther King Jr.
Make it an amazing day,
Nathan D. Plummer Ed.D
Proud Principal
Tulalip Heritage High School
SUPERINTENDENT’S STUDENT ADVISORY COUNCIL (SSAC)
We are in the process of recruiting students in grades 8 - 12 to serve on the Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council. Linked HERE is the process overview for the SSAC. We ask that middle and high school principals and counselors encourage students with strong leadership potential who may not be already engaged in leadership roles to consider applying. Some of our middle and high schools have created a Principal Student Advisory Team (PSAC) in their school. Selecting a student from the school's PSAC would be beneficial as they can bring information to the SSAC and report to the school’s council. Here is a LINK to the student interest form
Winter Bulletin
Freezing temperatures, more rain, and possible snow showers are in the local forecast this week.
Please review the winter weather bulletins linked below for families and staff so you are prepared in the event transportation and/or school schedules are impacted due to the weather:
Parent/Family Bulletin (English) (Spanish)*
Staff Bulletin (English) (Spanish)*
The District is prepared in the event ice or snow creates conditions that are unsafe for buses and other vehicles traveling on the roadways. Transportation staff starts physical road checks at 3:00 am. The Transportation Director reviews staff reports and contacts other school districts in the region. A report is then made to the Superintendent who will make the decision on whether schools will start late or be canceled. The decision is based on many factors including the morning report from the Transportation Director, road conditions, the forecast, and the safety of students and staff.
If there is a change to the school schedule the District will notify families and staff through multiple communication platforms by 6:00 am. The information will also be posted on local news channels and the District website at www.msd25.org.
Please review the bulletins linked above for important information and stay connected through the social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram) and the website for updates and information. Stay safe and warm!
