James Clark Maxwell was just taking pictures of a ribbon and running the photo through red, green, blue, and then a yellow filter. But yellow really was not used as much. The blue would show more color than the green and red but if he had it t would be blasted with colors.

Life
James Clark Maxwell was born on June 13, 1831, in Edinburgh, Scotland. Already a very smart kid he went to the University of Cambridge. He was known for his innovations. He made the first color photo and influenced Albert Einstein. But he died in England on November 5, 1879.
