Integrative STEM Workshops
In conjunction with The Horizon Hub
About The Horizon Hub
CCIU launched a makerspace called The Horizon Hub. It is a place where the cultivation of tomorrow’s innovators will be achieved through a collaborative approach that scaffolds and models various approaches to design thinking and strategies.
The CCIU Horizon Hub team members will utilize the annual NMC Horizon Report findings to fuel the innovation. The report currently identifies makerspaces as important developments in educational technology that should be adopted within one year or less.
Our goal is to demonstrate, through these workshops, how makerspaces can infuse creativity, excitement, and innovation that will transcend educational walls and bring to life a spirit of innovation within the community.

How do we redesign our classrooms, our instruction, and learning experiences so students are learning 21st century skills while still meeting the expectations of the PA Core Standards? We must redesign our own thinking. This workshop will focus on the design process and design thinking and how we can embed that in our lessons and our instruction to create more meaningful and relevant learning experiences for students.
