What's Going On In The World of St. Henry's SR
UPCOMING EVENTS
School Events
In October, we celebrated Education Week by creating Family Pizzas. Each pizza slice represents our Cultural Diversity. The students all worked well together in their family groups to create these wonderful pieces.
We also celebrated All Saints Day with a beautifully organized mass. The Jr school grade 4's presented each of their family group Saints during this celebration. Our Sr school readers also did a splendid job participating in the Mass.
This month will see students and teachers busily preparing for our first round of student led conferences. Progress reports will be sent home on Monday, November 25th, with SLC's to follow on the evenings of November 27th and 28th.
St. Henry’s Sr. School will once again be participating in the “Postcards for Peace” campaign. Each student will write a thank you postcard to members of the of the HMCS Calgary ship. HMCS Calgary is currently on a five month deployment to the South Pacific on Operation Projection – and will be visiting Vietnam, Korea and Japan. This is a part of the Remembrance Day week activities planned for our school in which students are able to write a thank you letter to active members of the Canadian Army/Navy or Air Force.
Blessings!

Girls Volleyball Season
We had many girls from grades 6 through 9 come out this year to play. New players learned basic volleyball skills and senior players improved their skills throughout the season. It was so nice to see the leadership displayed by our senior players when they were helping out new players by working with them not only during practice, but also during games. It was a pleasure to coach a wonderful group of girls. All of the girls were always respectful, inclusive and welcoming to all the players during every practice. When we traveled to other schools, the girls were always modeling sportsmanship by conducting themselves in a kind and respectful manner and taking a loss with grace. It was another great coaching experience for me at St. Henry's Senior thanks to all the great girls that came out to play!

Boys Volleyball
The boys had a successful season. They placed second at the Yorkton Regional Tournament and the Sacred Heart Tournament. They took home the gold at our home tournaments and two tournaments in Langenburg. We ended our season by placing first at conferences earning us a spot at the District Championships. Our hard work allowed us to come home with the silver medals, after losing to Yorkton Regional in some super close, well played matches. We will be sad to see nine grade 9 players move onto high school volleyball but we know they will be an asset to their team at MCS. I have thoroughly enjoyed coaching this wonderful group of athletes, not only because of their effort on the court, but also their team spirit and positive attitudes.

CONGRATULATIONS JR BOYS SILVER MEDALISTS!
HALLOWEEN FUN!
YOUTH CURLING
We will be starting up the 2019-20 season on Monday, November 4. We hope that you will again assist us by make our announcements/reminders. We will run our practices weekly unless we let you know that we have to cancel.
Youth aged 9 and over are invited to attend. They are to wear a warm sweater/jacket, sweat-type pants (not jeans) and “clean” indoor, non-slippery runners. Gloves (the mini ones work best) are a good idea. Everything else is supplied.
The participants are to be there by 6:20 so that we can start at 6:30. The cost for curling remains at $6.00 per week.
If you have any questions, please get back to us at either 728-4017 or 720-0351.
Thanks.
