Never Say Can't
Too many times in life, adults will tell kids that IT'S TOO HARD FOR THEM, THEY CANT DO IT, YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THEY HAVE TO DO, DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT, THAT WASN'T FAIR. We as educators do the same thing at times, THE CURRICULUM IS TOO HARD, THEY CAN'T DO IT, THEY HAVE NO CHANCE, THE TESTS ARE TOO HARD...there is nothing we can change about these things except for our ATTITUDE toward them. If things are HARD, what are we as their teacher going to do to make sure they know, understand and apply it.
Teach our kids to control what you can control, and push through the challenges that are hard. Don't make excuses, excuses are for losers...and everyone at Park View is a WINNER. We are all CHAMPIONS...Make sure we act and carry ourselves as a champions at all times.
Many people will only accomplish what is expected of them, so I want everyone one of you to raise your expectations for every kid in your class. Don't slight them because of their background, surroundings, life style, parental involvement or whatever else that may be a challenge for them. Push them to go above and beyond what they think they can do. Make it uncomfortable for them, not easy. Society has made so many things easy for our kids, that we still have to challenge them. If you don't WHO WILL!
