Parent Input for 2018-19 Class Placements

The deadline for filling out the parent input form has been extended to May 18!! Please fill out the Google Form to provide your input. This form is only for students who will be in Grades 1-5. The following considerations are made when making class placements:

  • Student's educational needs
  • Equalizing the numbers of students in ALL classes
  • Balancing the numbers of boys and girls
  • Balancing the ability levels and needs of classes
  • Family input
  • Legacy teacher (Based on the considerations above, we will place students with legacy teachers, as long as classrooms are balanced. This would also take into consideration returning and new students.)

Requests for specific teachers will NOT be honored.

We will not send home paper copies of the input form this year. All input must be submitted electronically, no later than Friday, May 18th.

Thank you!

Our next round of STAAR testing is this week! Testing can be stressful for students and parents sometimes too. :) Here are a few tips to help kids prepare and celebrate. Remember, STAAR is just one measure. All we ask is that students try their best. Go Bobcats!!

  • Get a good night's sleep
  • Eat a healthy breakfast
  • Drink plenty of water
  • Send water and a healthy snack to school
  • Remind your child it's effort that matters - Do you best!
  • Celebrate their effort/hard work after testing is over!

Kate the Chemist

The PTO won the lottery! They actually did! Our name was put into a lottery and we were chosen to have an assembly with the nationally known, award winning, Kate The Chemist. She has been on NBC Nightly News, CNN, Discovery Channel and Amy Poeler’s, Smart Girls.

Kate is a chemistry professor at UT and does these amazing assemblies using explosive experiments and her magnetic personality. She is inspiring thousands of children across Texas to see the exciting side of chemistry and science, and she will be at Bee Cave Elementary next Friday, May 18!

Parents are invited to join us during this unique assembly. Kinder, 1st and 2nd grade will take place from 12:55pm – 1:35pm. The 3rd, 4th and 5th graders will experience this from 1:50pm – 2:35pm. Come join us!

BrightBytes Survey

Lake Travis ISD will once again partner with BrightBytes to learn more about our technology use for student learning. In order to better show our growth over the past year and showcase the impact of our initiatives, we will refresh the data we collected last fall.

Our goal is to gather metrics on technology access and skills, and on our school’s technology environment, to further understand the connection between technology use and student achievement.

Parents, please take a few minutes to fill out the survey at (No login required.)

Thank you for your time and feedback!!
