First week of school!
We hope that you all have found success in connecting with and meeting the virtual teachers this week and starting to learn some of the processes of how our online learning environment will function. We have loved seeing our student faces on the screens again!
Elementary Virtual Parent Meeting - TONIGHT from 5:00pm-6:00pm
There will be an optional informational meeting for parents of elementary virtual learners this evening from 5:00-6:00pm. Use this Google Meet link at that time to join in. If you are unable to attend, we will send out the presentation we share as well as a recording of the live meeting for you to watch and look through at another time.
ROUND 2: Chromebook & Learning Material Pick-Up - Sept 3rd-4th (10:00am-3:00pm)
In order to support online learning, there are certain instructional books and materials (ex: math journals, social studies book, etc.) that teachers will be putting together for students to use while learning at home. Chromebooks will also be needed for students to use to access virtual learning. At your child’s home elementary school, please check in with the front office between 10:00am-3:00pm (avoiding parent drop off and pick up times for in-person students) on September 3rd and 4th. This is for 5K-4th grade only. 4K does not have any additional materials to pickup.
Virtual Community Events
In an effort to build our virtual community of elementary learners we are going to be coordinating opportunities on Wednesdays for students to interact with each other as well as different staff members beyond their own virtual classroom teacher. These events and staff supporting them are in the works but we wanted to start by sharing out the first two that we have set up.
- Students will be able to use our playground and meet others in the elementary virtual classrooms
- All will be expected to stay 6' apart while playing -OR- wear a mask if activities are closer contact. This aligns with our elementary buildings' recess safety measure. Please send a mask with your child.
- If you are a registered volunteer, you can be present on the blacktop/playground. If you are not a registered volunteer with the district, and would like to join, please register using this form: REGISTERED VOLUNTEER APPLICATION FORM.
- Future Recess opportunities will be supervised by our virtual teaching team on a rotating basis.
