Mrs. Miller's Mighty Mini's
May 9th - May 13th
Where has the time gone?
We have 13 days of school remaining in the 2015-2016 school year. Our kindergarten crew will be starting assessments this week. Please take the time to review with your child the following items: sight words, cvc words, how to write and spell name, addition and subtraction, as well as beginning, middle, and end sounds in words. A few minutes each night is worth the effort!
This week South Creek students, who will be attending Thompson Crossing next year, will take a short trip to view their new school. This will be done during school hours on Tuesday, May 10th. Our kindergarten students will be accompanied by fellow kindergarten teacher Mrs. Monday.
I want to extend a big "THANK YOU" to all my parents for the lunches, gift baskets, and all the support that I have received not just this week, but all year long! This has been a very challenging year, and one that I will never forget. Your kiddos will forever have a special place in my heart. Together, we took on the challenge of going to kindergarten. We embraced change, learned to struggle, and never gave up. I am so proud of us! We are finishing the year strong, and looking forward to first grade. Thank you for sharing your amazing children!
Reading and Language Arts
We will start Unit 10, Week 2 of the Wonders Series. This week we will read All Kinds of Families, learn about the long e sound, as well as practice the words come and does. Students will practice making connections within text, sequence, and asking questions.

In Social Studies we explore the process of how different things are made.
