Curriculum and Technology Shipments

Updates on Curriculum Shipping:

  • Calvert and Lincoln curriculum shipping is underway.
  • New enrollments in Calvert are currently closed as we anticipate issues having curriculum shipped for orders moving forward.
  • Technology packages began shipping Friday and take 2-4 days to arrive. You receive an email once shipping begins.
  • Teachers will provide information on activities that can be done without the print materials and technology packages. You can join live lessons, Lincoln and Calvert Basics from your phone or non-VLAC issued tech device.

High School Course Selection

Our VLAC team is working hard to gather all course selections from incoming and returning high school students. If you have not completed your course selection form, your enrollment may not be complete at this time. Please remember that VLAC requires all students in grades 9-12 to review their course selections with their enrolling district high school counselor as all districts have widely varying graduation requirements. Please reach out to Andrea Becker at andrea.becker@oakland.k12.mi.us if you have questions or need the course selection form re-sent.

Update for Lincoln Families and Students

You may notice your course cards on your dashboard looking different this school year! Many of the courses you see will show S1 after the course title. This means that this is just the first half of the course or the first 90 lessons. Many courses (aside from enrichment courses and Science and SS grades K-2) are about 180 lessons for the whole school year. If it does not have an S1 that just means that you are seeing all of the lessons for the full year for that course. For example, enrichment courses as well as science and social studies for grades K-2 are 90 lessons for the full school year, not 180. Please make note that your core courses in grades 3-8 (and ELA and Math in grades K-2) show just your first semester and should be completed by January 27th, 2023. We will order second semester courses in December/January so you will notice those being added to your dashboards around that time.

90 Lessons

180 Lessons

All Enrichment courses (grades K-8)

K-2 ELA and Math

K-2 Science and Social Studies

3-8 Core Courses (ELA, Math, Science and SS)

Our first semester ends January 27, 2023. Any courses with S1 in the course name title should be complete (up to 100% in gradable progress) by this date.

Please reach out to your mentor teacher with any questions!

Students with IEPs and 504s

VLAC is excited that families with children who have IEPs or 504s choose us as a learning partner. Both curriculums, Calvert/Edmentum (Grades K-5) and Lincoln (Grades K-12) have extensive options to accommodate and modify your learning experience. It is important that a transition meeting take place between your enrolling school, your VLAC teacher, and you. We can add your caseload teacher on to the Calvert/Edmentum or Lincoln portal so they can be a partner in monitoring student progress.

  • For more information about accommodations for students with IEPs or 504s using Lincoln click here.
  • For more information about accommodations for students with IEPs or 504s using Calvert/Edmentum refer to the document below.
