Works Progress Administration
Established 1935
WPA
The WPA was intended to help Americans without jobs by giving them jobs in construction for highways, parks, public buildings and more. This program falls under the recovery part of the New Deal because it gave people long term jobs that helped the country restart the flow of consumer and demand. The WPA was very successful in reliving the economic crisis because it gave people hope and jobs that would also help the country get more efficient as a whole. The WPA helped bring people out of deep debt and helped people get back on their feet. The WPA does not exist anymore but the legacy it left is still recognized today.
