Welcome Back!
Welcome back Dear Families,
We hope you all had a wonderfully relaxed and fun-filled break. The children arrived back with big smiles, filling our classroom with fun and contagious energy. We are so excited to be jumping into this New Year. We have so much planned and so much to accomplish! I can't wait to get started.
This week we have been focusing on re-establishing our routines after the long break. We talked about the different parts of the classroom, where we can put things to keep them safe, and the rules we follow to keep us safe when we are together at school.
As soon as we saw how knowledgeable our kids were when it comes to class routines, we wanted to focus on the different feelings that they might be experiencing during this time of the year. Happiness, excitement, joy are some of them but they sometimes feel scared, sad, nervous about the changes they are experiencing. Little Miss Muffet and Chester from “The Kissing Hand” both were scared, and they showed our boys and girls different ways to confront those fears.
We welcome you to talk to your child about how they are feeling about coming back to school by using pictures, manipulatives, role play, and help them understand the importance of talking about them.
Go ahead and enjoy this week’s newsletter!
