11.5.21
Hello Clifford Families,
We have such a busy next few weeks! Reminder that the first trimester comes to an end on Friday, November 12th. Teachers will be reaching out to you to schedule parent teacher conferences. These conferences are always important, but especially during this time to keep our home to school connections strong! We have many things on the calendar this month reflecting days off for Veteran’s Day and Fall Break, so please take note.
We are so excited that vaccines have been opened up to our younger students! This is especially helpful as we come into the colder, rainy, months where we will inevitably spend more time eating inside. We are so grateful that all of our students over 5 will now have the opportunity to protect themselves against Covid and to provide further protection for our community as a whole.
November is a month for recognizing gratitude, and we are reminded everyday of how grateful we are for this Clifford community! Thank you to all of our staff who have worked so hard to provide such meaningful learning for our students. Thank you to our families for your trust and partnership as we get back on this track to what life looked like before the pandemic. Enjoy the leaves, the change in the weather, and opportunities to share joy with friends and family.
In Partnership,
Jude Noyes

RCSD Vaccination Clinic
RCSD will host its clinic on Thursday, November 18 at Hoover Community School. The event will take place after school from 2 to 7 p.m. All families will need to register their children for vaccination prior to the event. In the coming weeks, RCSD will provide information to all families on how to register.
The event is open to all 5-11 year olds in San Mateo County.
Children who receive their first dose on November 18 will be able to come back to Hoover Community School for their second dose on Thursday, December 9. Hoover Community School is located at 701 Charter St.
The vaccination clinic at Hoover is one of many options for vaccinating children in San Mateo County. Other options include healthcare providers, pharmacies, and other county and community clinics. San Mateo County Health will be posting these options on its website.
Covid Testing Schedule
We have a team of medical staff who come on Mondays and Thursdays to test our students at Clifford whose parents have registered with Primary Health and have also indicated that they would like their children tested that week. In order to have your child tested at school, you need to do two things.
Please register your child at Primary Health at this link here. You only need to complete this process one time and provide your consent.
Please make sure to complete the form that the district sends out on Friday afternoon at 3:00. This form is your way of telling us that you would like your child tested the following week. You will need to complete this form every week on Friday if you want your child tested the next week.

Clifford School values your feedback! We are currently surveying our Clifford School families in order to gain insight into your perception of our school. To ensure we continue to provide high quality, rigorous learning experiences, and a supportive caring environment, which meets the needs of our learners and prepares them for college and career and to be globally competitive, we need your feedback.
To administer these surveys, we have partnered with Panorama Education to conduct our fall 2021 Family Survey. The survey is 100% anonymous. The survey shouldn’t take more than a few minutes to complete, and will be a valuable source of information for us as we continue to grow as a school community.
You may complete the survey online between November 1 and November 12 using a computer, tablet, or smartphone by clicking this link.
We thank you in advance for your thoughtful responses. If you have any questions about the survey administration, please don’t hesitate to contact us at 650-482-2402 or by email jnoyes@rcsdk8.net.
Student and Staff Survey: Students in grades 3-8 will take the student survey between 11/1-11/12. Teachers have planned for time in class for students to participate. Staff will also take the survey during a planned staff meeting or at other planned times between 11/1-11/12.

Dolphin Creed Awards TK-8th Grade
Dolphin Awards and Criteria...
Starting in December, each month our Tk-5th grade teachers will nominate one student from their class who exemplifies what it means to live by our Dolphin Creed. Our students will be recognized in a school wide announcement and our winners will receive a special prize from our Dolphin Depot student store and have their picture showcased in the office for the month. Our middle school students will receive similar recognition, with a twist. Middle school will be recognized by trimester. Each grade level will nominate one student per character trait on the creed. For example, for each grade there will be 5 winners per trimester. They will also receive recognition, their showcased picture in the office, and a special (middle school geared) prize from the Dolphin Depot. These awards are a small way that we can acknowledge and celebrate the great things that our Dolphins do on a daily basis! If you are unable to purchase a book for financial reasons, please see Ms. Natalie in the Equity Room and where she has a small supply available for those who need it.
*Please note that everyone is welcome to the book club discussions. You do not have to have read the book to be included.
If you have any questions about the books, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Happy reading!
