LHS Monday Memo
Week of 3/2-3/6
Good evening LHS family,
Please be sure to turn on the Raider Report Monday morning during advisory - there will be a special segment and interview with Mark Tibbetts and myself regarding our new Early College Program! You don't want to miss it because it's very important that all students know this program now exists at LHS!
Be on the lookout for the CBS Morning crew who will be here filming all day Wednesday, this has been quite an orchestrated effort and we are grateful to Rob DeLossa and Joe Jussaume for their efforts to get this day in place. CBS will be filming Joe's class, plus doing some interviews and filming a panel discussion. It should be a very busy and exciting day at LHS!
As a reminder, all grades are due this Wednesday, 3/4.
There will be brief voluntary meeting right after school tomorrow, Monday so I can update you about next year. I'll share the location with you in the morning. If you can't make it, I plan to send out a follow-up email after the meeting.
Ethan Hebert - Youth Olympics Curling Team
I want to share part of a note Ethan's mom sent to Dr. Vejar regarding Ethan's recent trip to the Olympics - LHS is so proud of Ethan!
The trip to Switzerland and the Olympics was amazing and by far a once in a lifetime experience. While the curling results were not what we hoped - Ethan came away with so much more. Lifetime friends from around the world, a new appreciation for curling at the world level, and a renewed sense of independence and self pride. There were so many happy tears from his parents! Watching your child live their dream is priceless and has made all the sacrifice, time, and money spent so very worth it.

from Malinda:
Do you have the knowledge necessary to protect yourself and your family from online threats? Due to today’s high tech world, knowing cybersecurity is more important than ever. The city of Lowell has been awarded a grant to train all staff. This training, Cybersecurity Awareness Program, will help you protect yourself and your family against cyber threats, and has been provided to you FREE OF CHARGE. Please take advantage of this valuable opportunity and start your training this week by completing the 5-10 minute CyberStrength Assessment. This assignment was due 2/28 but it is still available for completion. To participate look for an email with the following information:

SUBJECT: You Have Been Assigned a CyberStrength Assessment
This email will contain a link that will take you to your account with the Security Education Platform. Please note: this link is unique to you and will be used to track your participation in the program. The results of this quiz will be used to establish a baseline of the cybersecurity posture within the city as well as across the entire Commonwealth, and will be administered again in December to measure the effectiveness of the program.
I consider myself extremely knowledgeable in regards to cybersecurity, however, the survey found several areas in which I could improve. I am grateful to have this opportunity to learn more.
Please choose to participate so that you can learn how to protect yourself and your family from cyber threats. Here is a link to the email message archiver, in case you deleted the emails from wombat_training_platform@wombatsecurity.com
