District 97 Presents Draft FY20 Goals and Equity Implementation Plan
During its regular meeting on Sept. 24, the District 97 Board of Education heard a presentation from Superintendent Carol Kelley on the district's draft FY20 Goals and Equity Implementation Plan, which includes strategies, priorities, and milestones for achieving and maintaining racial educational equity for all students. The board also heard a presentation on the district's draft Communications and Community Engagement Plan on Equity. This plan includes strategies and tactics for informing and engaging the community around the district's equity work.
A diverse pool of stakeholders provided feedback on these plans, generating a wide range of ideas to help shape our equity work across each of our discussion areas (or pillars). The board is expected to take action on both plans during their next regularly scheduled meeting on Oct. 15.

PTO Meetings This Year
As a PTO, we recognize how difficult it is for parents to commit to attending monthly morning or evening meetings. That’s why this year we are excited to share that we will focus more on ways to engage our Community Nest in fun family-friendly events such as those listed below. We will also be adding a math and a literacy night to our lineup that is both educational and fun.
Based on our PTO by-laws, we will have two community/budget meetings this year. The first one is 11/20/19 and the second meeting will be in the Spring on 5/20/20. Be sure to mark your calendars!
