Covid Testing Available

Recently, we received approval and the supplies to be able to administer the rapid COVID-19 test to our faculty/staff and students. The rapid COVID-19 test will provide results within 15 minutes.

This is completely optional and voluntary for your student. We are offering this to help better protect our school. We will only test, with your consent, when there are symptoms or possibly close contact. Due to a limited supply of tests, we will only test under these conditions.

Attached to this email is the consent form that will need to be completed before the test is administered. I recommend that if you wish to give St. Joseph consent to administer the test, to complete this form and have it on your student’s file for future use. Even with the consent form, before we test, we will call you. The consent form will need to be turned into the front office.

Returning the consent form does not mean we will immediately test your student. It will be kept on file for future use if there is a need to test your student if they are symptomatic or close contact. There is more detailed information on the consent form about the test.

The month of September is Disaster Preparedness Month and St. Joseph Catholic Academy is teaming up with Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Austin to provide classroom presentations for our students. Students will learn about what happens during a natural or other disaster such as fire and flood, and how to be prepared. Each student will come home with a home kit and information guide to go over with their parents and family members. We hope this is a helpful resource for all of our families.

Dress Code

We have begun giving out dress code violations. The attached PDF below is a good look at what the dress code for each student in each grade should be. We know there is a back order on some items, but hopefully you will receive any missing items soon. Shoes should be solid black or white, soles included. Socks are black, white or navy only.

Pick-up line procedures are doing great! Thank you for working with our staff to safely transition your students back to you at the end of the day. Students have received 2 copies of the pick up placard. Please share this with authorized pick-up alternates if possible. If there is an emergency and you cannot pass your placard, please have them come to the office after the pick-up line has thinned out to verify identity.
